Our Commitment to GDPR Compliance
Tax Pro Local is committed to complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR for users located in the European Union, European Economic Area, and United Kingdom.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data on the following legal bases: your consent (e.g. marketing emails, analytics/marketing cookies); the necessity to perform a contract with you (e.g. creating your account, publishing your Candidate Profile so you can apply to jobs, connecting you with a firm you requested a quote from, delivering messages related to your job application); our legitimate interests (e.g. fraud prevention, spam scoring on leads, service improvement); and compliance with legal obligations.
Special Note on Candidate Profiles & Job Applications
Publishing a Candidate Profile and applying for jobs is an affirmative, opt-in action you take; we process this data under the "necessity to perform a contract" basis (the contract being: you asked us to present your profile to hiring firms and deliver your application). You may withdraw this consent at any time by making your profile private or deleting it, subject to any application already in progress with a firm.
Your Rights Under GDPR
- Right to access the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — including deletion of your account, Candidate Profile, resume file, and message history
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to data portability (receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format)
- Right to object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing
- Right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal
- Right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority
Automated Decision-Making
We use a lightweight automated spam-scoring system to flag potentially fraudulent leads for manual admin review before they are routed to firms. This does not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you and always remains subject to human review before any account or listing action is taken.
Data Transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (for example, because a firm you're applying to or requesting a quote from is located outside the EEA), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Exercising Your Rights
To exercise any of these rights, submit a request via our Contact page or email privacy@taxprolocal.com. We will verify your identity and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally within one month under GDPR).
